WHAT ARE ILLUSTRATIONS?

Hand-drawn illustrations

Our custom illustrations are hand-drawn visuals designed to explain a specific idea, process, or message clearly.

Ink Factory provides custom illustration services for websites, presentations, training materials, and campaigns, helping organizations turn complex or confusing concepts into visuals people actually understand.

Unlike visual notes, which act as a summary, custom illustrations are carefully designed over weeks to solve your specific communication challenges.

You know you want to

Why Illustration Matters

Stop losing brilliant ideas to information overload. Illustrations turn complexity into clarity that people actually remember and act on.

HOW illustration HELPS

Communication & Marketing Collateral

Transform how you communicate across every channel. Our custom illustrations work on websites, in training materials, sales collateral, and social media—anywhere you need to explain complex ideas clearly. One visual asset that ensures your message stays consistent and compelling, whether it's on screen or in print.

Presentation Decks

Turn your presentation into a visual journey. We can create illustrations for conferences that reveal progressively throughout your deck—starting with foundational concepts and adding layers as your story unfolds. Each slide builds on the last, helping your audience see how ideas connect while keeping them engaged from start to finish.

Posters, Murals & Wall Art

Turn your walls into strategic assets. Our illustrations scale beautifully as posters, murals, and office art—keeping your strategy, values, or processes visible every day. Instead of letting important initiatives fade, put them where your team can't miss them. Beautiful, functional, and a constant reminder of what matters most.

Our Illustration  PROCESS

01
Align on messaging
First, we make sure we're drawing the right content to hit your goals. Bring your own copy or collaborate with us to develop it—either works. Then we'll hop on a strategy call to dig into what you're trying to achieve and who needs to understand it.

02
We sketch your vision
Our artist takes your content and turns it into a rough sketch that maps out the key concepts and visual flow. We'll also share a style sample so you can see exactly how the final illustration will look and feel.

03
We bring it to life
Once you approve the sketch, we ink and color the full illustration, then format it for wherever you need it—presentations, websites, print materials, social media, you name it.

What our illustration clients are saying

“We came to them with less than two weeks to have our project turned around and they worked with us to make it happen. Our project manager was so helpful and ensured everything went smoothly, and our artist was so talented, I honestly have no words to even describe how great she is. We had them create a timeline for our cofounder of the company who retired and it was exactly what were hoping!!”

Sahra Majerczyk, Bishop Fox

"These illustrations (and the entire process for creating them) far exceeded our expectations! Every step of the way was friendly, easy, and super organized."

Dr. Melody Kisor, Cure LBSL

"We wanted to do something really different and really fun, and we found that the drawings were exactly that."

Johanna Beckmen, Senior Marketing Director for uLab Systems

"For this campaign we wanted something completely different from what we’ve done before. Ink Factory listened to what we wanted and executed on our vision perfectly. The ad is gorgeous and the whole process was very smooth from start to finish. The team provided a clear project plan and oftentimes were ahead of schedule. It was a pleasure working with them and would love to work together again in the future!"

Who Uses Our Illustrations?

Leadership & Thought Leaders

Your vision deserves more than a bullet-point slide. Custom illustrations help leaders communicate strategic plans, pitch investors, and rally stakeholders around a big idea—turning abstract vision into something people can actually see, understand, and get behind.

We also bring mission, vision, and core values to life visually, so the ideas that define your organization actually stick with the people living them out every day.

Marketing Teams

Client pitches stand out with custom illustrations (and let your prospects know you heard them).

Whether they’re shared online or at conferences, marketers know visuals are how you grab attention, using illustrations for everything from trade show collateral to brand storytelling.

Conferences & Trade Shows

Visual notes aren’t our only form of illustrations for conferences. We work with event planners, marketers, program directors and presenters to create conference collateral like social media videos and hand-drawn slides for important presentations. And if you want to stand out, an illustrated trade show booth will definitely draw people in. (Get it?)

What you get: A clear, compelling visual that inspires people to take action

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between custom illustrations and live visual notes?

Live visual notes are captured on-the-fly during a presentation or meeting. Custom illustrations, on the other hand, are studio-crafted visuals that are carefully designed over several weeks to solve specific communication challenges. They are ideal for websites, marketing collateral, presentation decks, training materials, and murals.

What is the process for creating a custom illustration?

Our process has three main steps:

  1. Align on messaging: We hop on a strategy call to dig into your goals and target audience.
  2. Sketch your vision: Our artist creates a rough sketch mapping out key concepts and visual flow, along with a style sample that shows final coloring options.
  3. Bring it to life: Once you approve the sketch, we ink, color, and format the final illustration for your needs.

Do I need to provide the copy or text for the illustration?

You can absolutely bring your own copy, or you can collaborate with our team to develop it from scratch—either works! If you opt to provide your own copy, before the project kicks off we'll provide you with a 15-point worksheet that takes you through developing your content for an illustration. We will then work together during our first content and style call to ensure the visual elements and text complement each other perfectly.

What file formats will I receive for the final illustration?

We format the final, polished illustration based on wherever you plan to use it. Whether you need high-resolution files for large-scale print materials (like murals or posters), web-optimized formats for your website and social media, or layered assets for presentation decks, we’ve got you covered.
