Join the Think Like Ink team for our first in-person workshop at the Ink Factory studio since returning to the office! Our full-day workshop will be a comprehensive visual note-taking overview, diving into many of the skills that are needed to take your regular notes to the next level.

What makes this workshop different from our virtual 101 workshop? You will be working in a small group of up to 11 participants, with lots of hands-on time with expert instructors. You'll get to try the same exact tools our artists use to demonstrate. There will also be much more time for asking questions and learning from other participants.

By purchasing a ticket, you are agreeing to abide by our COVID-19 safety policy.

What's Included

The day will be broken up into two 3-hour sessions. Starting at 9 am, the morning modules will take you from the what and why of visual note-taking to warming up your drawing skills. We’ll cover the tools needed for all types and sizes of visual notes and how to best use them–and you get to take home your own sketchnoting toolkit. Then we will spend a lot of time focusing on organizing your notes using visual hierarchy in many different ways. We’ll finish up the morning by exploring different ways to improve your lettering skills and learning when to use them, and finally learning about drawing and building your visual library.

After an hour lunch break, we will come back together and start combining the skills we’ve learned so far starting with creating some titles for actual talks we will practice in the afternoon. Then we will provide you with tips and tricks on how to be a better listener to start actually taking live visual notes.

The rest of the day is focused on practicing these skills with added instruction, guided practice, and trying it all on your own. By the end of the workshop, you should have all the tools you need to start taking your own visual notes. But as we always say, it takes a lot of practice! And we recommend that at home after the workshop in the future.
